Line Marking Paint

Line Marking Paint

Car parks are generally busy places with constantly moving vehicles as well as pedestrian footfall – ensuring order and proper direction on walkways and parking bays is essential. This is where an epoxy based line marking paint can provide the best solution.

Line marking paints are used for demarcation of industrial and commercial floor areas and help manage the movement and flow of traffic as well as marking out specific hazards, or sections for uses such as loading bays or pedestrianised zones.

Epoxy line marking paint is an excellent choice due to its tough, durable and long lasting features. These epoxy coatings come in a variety of colours not just the standard white of yellow line marking paint, so that you can apply different colours for different zones if needed. They have excellent adherence to concrete and steel and offer a chemical and abrasion resistant finish.

At CPRL our range of epoxy line marking paints typically have the following properties:

  • Solvent free, low odour
  • Fast Curing
  • Excellent adhesion to concrete and steel
  • High build
  • Tough and durable
  • Easily applied
  • Hygienic and easily cleaned
  • Very good chemical resistance

The best way to apply these paints is to start with a properly prepared surface, ensuring the concrete is a minimum of 21 days old and has a moisture content is below 6%.

The surface must then be cleaned and free from any existing paint, oil, grease or dust. Defective concrete should be made good before starting the work and can be treated with a repair mortar or bonding adhesive such as CPR 719 – Epoxy Concrete Patch Repair Mortar or CPR 702 – Epoxy Bonding Adhesive.

Mixing and application is pretty straight forward, simply pour the contents of the ‘curing agent’ container into the ‘base’ container and thoroughly mix until a uniform colour is achieved. Apply by brush, short piled roller or airless spray.

Once applied, allow to cure for a minimum of 5 hours @ 20°C prior to light foot traffic access and 10 hours @ 20° prior to vehicular trafficking. 7 days cure @ 20°C is recommended prior to exposure to chemicals.

CPR 816 – Line Marking Paint – Epoxy HB has been developed to provide a durable lining material for application to concrete substrates. The material is supplied as a two pack system, comprising pre-weighed amounts of BASE and CURING AGENT. After mixing together, an easily applied chemical and abrasion resistant finish is produced.

CPR 818 – Line Marking Paint – Extended Pot Life has been developed much the same as CPR 816 and it is low odour, low emission coating with a rapid cure and fast return to service and has a longer pot-life version of CPR 816 option.

The material is supplied as a two pack system, comprising pre-weighed amounts of BASE and CURING AGENT. After mixing together, an easily applied chemical and abrasion resistant finish is produced.
