Penny Floor Resin & Sealer

A penny floor is a beautiful addition to any home. It adds a sense of character and charm, impressing guests and adding value to a property. It also gives you a chance to create a unique element within your home which showcases your artistic skills.

Penny floor resin, also called penny floor epoxy or penny floor epoxy resin, is a clear sealer which is applied to penny floors. Made from a combination of polymer resins and hardeners it creates an extremely smooth and shiny surface that highlights the quality of your pennies and brightens a space.

When it comes to epoxy coatings, there are two types of products to choose from:

  • Solvent based epoxy floor coatings
The original type of epoxy hardener. Made from a solvent-based hardener with resin. Unfortunately, there are some downsides to using this type of epoxy including the emission of toxic fumes during application.
  • Water-based epoxy
Delivers the same waterproof glossy finish as a solvent based epoxy, but it is 100% non-toxic. This is the most commonly used epoxy floor coating.

At CPRL, we stock several water-based products which are UV stable, non-toxic and ideal for creating coin cast flooring or penny floor designs. The most popular option for these types of floors is CPR 819 – Crystal Clear Epoxy Resin – UV Stable .

CPR 819 is designed for thick applications of epoxy where objects are encased. It is an extremely clear high-gloss epoxy which will highlight all of the features of your pennies. Its excellent UV resistance means it is suitable for areas which are exposed to a lot of sunlight.

This product is non-toxic and extremely safe to use. It adheres well to both concrete and stonework surfaces which makes application simple. Once dry, it provides excellent chemical resistance. It is a low odour product, which makes it suitable for penny floors installed in kitchens and small enclosed areas like bathrooms.

What Is A Rapid Cure Primer Concrete Primer?

Rapid cure concrete primers are fast setting primers designed for use on concrete and masonry surfaces. The faster cure rate means they can accept foot or vehicle traffic within 12 hours of being applied — which is particularly useful for busy commercial or industrial locations.

Rapid cure primers exhibit excellent adhesion on both new and old concrete, including surfaces that are cool or damp. They do an excellent job of sealing concrete surfaces, making the surface more resilient to damage from chemicals, bacteria, and abrasion.

Once a rapid cure primer has bonded, it provides an excellent surface for applying paint or another sealant. It will greatly increase the longevity of your top coat, ensuring painted or sealed surfaces look fantastic for many years to come.

Our quick dry epoxy products are a two pack, water dispersible solution, ideal for priming, sealing, or clear coating a surface. We also offer MMA quick dry primers, which have a thin viscosity which makes them easy to apply. All of our products are formulated to meet the technical and environmental requirements of modern buildings.

Our products are also non-toxic, low odour, solvent free, and non-flammable. This makes them ideal for use in food preparation areas, schools, day care centres, laboratories, and virtually any other environment. Check out our range Rapid Cure Concrete Primers  which includes:

  • CPR 402 – Concrete Primer – Epoxy WB – Rapid Cure  – CPR 402 is a rapid cure clear sealer which is ideal for concrete and masonry surfaces. It is the perfect primer for other CPR coatings like the CPR 821 Waterproof Desk System and the CPR 808 Self Levelling Flexible Deck Coating. It works well on damp surfaces, making it ideal for food factories, dairies, laboratories, abattoirs, subways, chemical

Benefits Of Using Rapid Cure Concrete Primers

Here are a few of the advantages of using a rapid cure concrete primer:

Easily applied

All of our rapid cure concrete primers have a low-medium viscosity which makes easy to apply to concrete, steel, and timber surfaces. Because they dry quickly, you will be able to walk on or drive a freshly coated surface within a couple of hours. This makes rapid cure primers a great choice for busy commercial or industrial locations.

A great way to protect a concrete floor

Applying a rapid cure concrete primer can protect your floor against bacteria and chemical corrosion, fire, and physical damage. Concrete primers will also give your top coat of paint much more adherence and resilience, increasing its lifespan.

Excellent adhesion to both dry and damp surfaces

All rapid cure concrete primers have excellent adhesion on both dry and damp surfaces, which makes applying them even easier. There is also a speciality MMA Damp Tolerant Concrete Primer for very damp environments like basements, tunnels, and swimming pool surrounds.

Economical and versatile

Rapid cure concrete primers are affordable and can be used on a variety of materials. Applying a primer is a simple way to greatly improve the lifespan of surfaces.

What is an Epoxy Damp Proof Membrane?

An epoxy damp proof membrane is a 2-part surface primer. After being mixed, it can be brushed onto concrete floors and screeds to provide a protective layer that enhances the durability, UV resistance, abrasion resistance, and strength of floor coatings.

Our two-part epoxy damp proof membrane provides excellent adhesion to any damp cementitious surface. Once it has dried, the membrane provides a dry barrier against moisture below.

These properties make it an excellent choice for damp proofing underground car parks, basement garages, retaining walls, tunnels, and cellars. It is also useful for applying between a concrete floor and a vinyl or timber overlay, to ensure moisture does not move into the top layers of your flooring.

CPR 400 – Epoxy Damp Proof Membrane is  our two-part epoxy damp proof membrane and comes in multiple sizes including:

  • Epoxy damp proof membrane 1kg
  • Epoxy damp proof membrane 5kg
  • Epoxy damp proof membrane 10kg

Benefits of Using An Epoxy Damp Proof Membrane

Here are just a few of the advantages of applying an Epoxy Damp Proof Membrane to a surface:

Can be used as both a primer and waterproofing agent –You can apply epoxy damp proof membrane as a standalone waterproofing agent or add a layer of paint on top. It is also a great choice for waterproofing a floor before laying timber, vinyl, or carpet on top.

Cures very quickly – A two-part epoxy damp proof membrane can be applied to any damp cementitious surface and cures in as little as 12 hours. Once it has cured, it creates an impermeable layer which prevents moisture from traveling through to the surface of the concrete slab.

Works well as a remedial solution –You can apply an epoxy damp proof paint to a concrete floor that already has a significant damp problem in order to seal it. It is a much cheaper option than digging up the existing floor and replacing it completely.

Excellent adhesion to a variety of materials – Epoxy damp proof membrane can be applied to a wide variety of materials, including concrete, brick, masonry, concrete blocks, and fiberglass.

Protects your concrete floor- The dry membrane will help to protect the surface from bacterial, chemical, and abrasion damage. If a layer of paint is applied on top of the primer, it will enjoy an increased lifespan due to improve adherence.

Safe for the environment – Our liquid epoxy damp proof membrane products are water-based, non-toxic, and non-flammable. They are an environmentally friendly option suitable for modern buildings.
